Best Golf Shoes

Best Golf Shoes

Golf shoes have come a long way since the days when golf shoes could double for Sunday church shoes.   The days of uncomfortable and unfashionable golf shoes are (thankfully) now gone.   We’ve compiled our list of the best golf shoes on the market.  You cannot go wrong with any of the below selections in terms of style, comfort, or performance.

The new era of golf shoes brings both comfort and performance.  Shoe companies have incorporated running and crosstrainer shoe technology into golf shoes, and added “spikeless” ridges to the bottom of the sole so that golfers no longer have to switch out spikes every few months.

Golfers now happily take off their sneakers to put on their golf shoes, because they are just that comfortable to walk around in all day.  Hell, I’ve often joked that I could run a 5K in my golf shoes faster than I could in my running shoes.

As a bonus, for those of us that remember playing with spikes that had to be changed frequently, these new shoes couldn’t come fast enough.

For those that are still unsure – all of the options below are great shoes, it really just comes down to style and fit.

PUMA Men's Ignite NXT Golf Shoes

Extremely Comfortable & Responsive Golf Shoes

The Puma Ignite NXT Golf Shoe is a next generation golf shoe built for those that value style and comfort as much as performance (and don’t want to sacrifice any of the three!).

Unlike traditional golf shoes, the PUMA Ignite have over 100 strategically placed hexagon lugs that maintain contact with the ground and deliver excellent traction throughout the swing motion.  They also have built in foam that are incredibly comfortable and offer superior cushioning and energy return compared to other brands out there.

I have been wearing these shoes for over a year now and they are by far the best golf shoes I’ve ever worn. On the course, it feels like I am wearing my comfortable sneakers and that I could run a marathon in them. The only difference is, these have way better grip and are easier to keep clean than sneakers.

For those that value durability and regularly walk 18 holes or more in a day, these shoes will also work well for you due to the SoleShield technology that covers the midsole for added durability and easier cleaning.

Buying tips:

  • I would choose grey, blue, or black (not white) since golf shoes are prone to get covered in dirt
  • Sizing seems true to size

Sketchers Men's Go Golf Elite 3 Shoes

Extremely Comfortable Athletic Golf Shoes

A waterproof golf shoe that has is unparalleled in comfort.

If I could describe these shoes in one word it would be: Comfort.

The reason I’m including Sketchers in this list is that my brother wears these shoes and swears by them.

Also, the new insole the have added offers unmatchable durable grip to the ground, ensuring your feet don’t slip under wet conditions.

Like other shoes mentioned here, this spikeless design is offered in a number of colors.

Buying tips:

  • I would choose blue or black (not white) since golf shoes are prone to get covered in dirt
  • Sizing seems true to size

Adidas Men's Tech Response Golf Shoes

Lightweight Shoes with Excellent Comfort and Stability

The Adidas Men’s Tech Response Golf Shoe is a performance golf shoe.  I’ve worn several different adidas golf shoes over the years and cannot remember a time when I was disappointed in the quality of the shoes they make. They are simply comfortable and a great shoe for those that are a bit more trendy.

These shoes have similar design features as other brands mentioned here but are known for being “grippy”, or in other words, fit a little more snug.

These shoes are very breathable and judging by the 3,400+ positive amazon reviews, you can rest assured Adidas will hit the mark.

Buying tips:

  • If you have wide feet I would recommend getting a “wide” version from Amazon. Otherwise, these should work fine.
  • Sizing seems true to size
